As the brand grew, my role evolved to include Community management, and the focus was on the brand's tone of voice. Resolving queries around availability, orders and stockists etc.
Bodega Bay, the first Hard Seltzer to launch in the UK. Bodega Bay was a start-up in a new drink category. Where do we start? Bodega Bay had the challenge of establishing its brand and the hard seltzer category in an already established UK drinks market of beer, wine, cider and gin. The project brief required us to pose and answer problems that people didn’t know they were thinking, i.e. where can I find a low-calorie alcoholic drink? What is alcoholic sparkling water? Where can I find a low-alcoholic drink? Are there alcoholic drinks that are suitable for vegans? Etc.
Brand building
Our strategy was Instagram first and to build the brand. We also knew that we had to educate followers at the same time. We knew that Instagram had the audiences we were targeting, i.e. millennials, fitness enthusiasts, low-calorie dieters and healthy lifestyle followers. Instagram also had the tools we needed to target these audiences.
Influencers
Throughout 2020 pubs, bars, restaurants and events were cancelled, and Influencer marketing was the main focus of marketing Bodega Bay. We had to appeal to a larger audience, so we worked with Micro, and macro Influencers to tap into their communities.
